Sixteen players of the Super Eagles had arrived at press time on Monday as Nigeria opened camp for the World Cup qualifier against African champions Cameroon.
The players included the captain, Mikel Obi, the three goalkeepers – Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Alampasu. Others are defenders Elderson Echiejile, Chidozie Awaziem and Tyronne Ebuehi.
Mikel Agu, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Oghenekaro Etebo and Ogenyi Onazi have also reported in camp, according to the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles, @NGSuperEagles.
Others are Kelechi Iheanacho, William Troost-Ekong and Wilfred Ndidi. Chelsea of England player Ola Aina is the 16th player in camp, but he has not been cleared by world football governing body FIFA to represent his fatherland. The defender represented England in the youth category before deciding to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
Meanwhile, members of the technical crew of the Super Eagles and the players who had arrived early moved to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital from Abuja on Monday ahead of the Nigeria-Cameroon World Cup qualifying fixture.
Nigeria will square up to the central Africans on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo with the reverse fixture scheduled to hold in Yaounde three days later.
The Super Eagles will have their first training session today and it will be the only open training session as those of Wednesday and Thursday will be closed to the public.
Currently Nigeria lead the pack in the group B of the African qualifying zone with six points while Cameroon have two points.
