Mixed blessings for Eagles at Easter

NIGERIA’S Super Eagles had mixed fortunes at Easter Sunday as captain Mikel Obi went down with Tianjin TEDA while new blood Kayode Olanrewaju continued his scoring spree.

Mikel’s Tianjin were beaten 3-0 at home by Guangzhou Evergrande, in a match Brown Ideye featured for 90 minutes for the losing side.

Kayode Olarenwaju scored his 19th goal of the season in Austria Wien in the 3-0 demolition of Mattersburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Osaze Odemwingie on Sunday made a winning debut with his Indonesian club Madurda United as he scored the second goal in the 73rd minute from the penalty spot in a 2-0 win over Bali United FC.
