Spanish top-flight football club, Cadiz, has joined Nigerians all over the world in paying tribute to the late Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Tribune online reports that Mohbad passed away on September 12 at the age of 27.
Following the unfortunate incident, Nigerians have continued to protest and call for justice over the circumstances surrounding the death of the late ‘peace’ hitmaker.
Similarly, tributes have continued to pour in for the late rapper from fans, celebrities, politicians, and others.
Joining others in paying tribute to Mohbad, Cadiz football club, which currently occupies the 9th position in the Spanish La Liga, announced that Mohbad’s jersey will be displayed on their substitute bench during their next game against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
According to the club, as stated in a post on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, the late Nigerian artist’s jersey will give them the needed strength to win the game.
The post reads: “🖤🇳🇬 Mohbad Imolè will be with us for tomorrow’s home game against Rayo Vallecano. 💫👏 The singer’s Cadista jersey will be on the bench to give us the strength we need to win the match.🙏 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙤𝙝𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 #ThisIsCádiz.”
