Poland keeper Bartosz Bialkowski says it was painful he couldn’t keep out Victor Moses’ penalty kick that swung the game in favour of the Super Eagles in last Friday’s home defeat.
The Ipswich Town keeper who was making his debut for the Poland national team reasoned that it would have been an opportunity to shine and cement his place in the team to the World Cup.
“Maybe that it could be my chance to save it and shine in the debut? But then you know, every goalkeeper wants to save penalties.
“I knew he’d try to out-wait me. He watched my reactions on the line until the very end. It’s a shame about the referee’s decision but it’s history now. We can’t change it.”
