Moses unfazed by award snub

Victor Moses says he is not discouraged by losing the BBC African Footballer Of The Year Award to Liverpool and Egypt ace, Mohammed Salah.

Moses came fourth in the poll which had Salah, Sadio Mane, Pierre Aubameyang ahead and Naby Keita behind him.

”It was motivating to me- to be mentioned among Africa’s best 5. It can only get better for me playing in the English Premiership and looking forward to a great World Cup,” the wing back told TyC Sports.

”Few years ago, people won’t down their money on me. Now I am worth people’s votes and that is challenging, ” he added.

He described the winner, Salah, as a top athlete who deserves the honour bestowed on him.

”He was here with us at Chelsea and went out there to Italy to add experience to his trade. To return to the Premiership with Liverpool and score a lot of goals make me jealous”

Moses is also full of praises for Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte for what he had done with the team.

”The manager gets everybody serious. There isn’t much messing around on the training pitch, every moment you are asked to be a tough competitor and this is good for the entire team because the results bring out laughter more often.”
