Plans under way for Alaafin’s 80th birthday boxing competition

Arrangements are being made to organise a boxing competition as part of activities to mark the 80th birthday of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

Oba Adeyemi will be 80 years old in October 2018.

The boxing competition, All-Nigeria Boxing Championship, is being organised by a boxing promoter and sports administrator, Bob Olukoya Esq, through his I-YESS Sport Promotions outfit.

Already, Tribunesport has it on good autority that the monarch, a former boxer himself, has been informed of the plan to organise the boxing competition and has given his blessing.
