Mourinho linked with Inter return

Former boss Jose Mourinho is being linked with a return to Serie A and the Inter Milan post to replace the under-fire Luciano Spalletti.

The Portuguese is apparently due to meet up with Inter director Beppe Marotta and, according to reports in the Italian media, they will discuss him returning to the club as head coach.

Spalletti is under pressure after Inter fell away in the title race – they currently sit 20 points behind Juventus in the standings – although they could rescue their season in the Europa League, with a two-legged tie with Rapid Vienna ahead.

Mourinho is still very highly thought of at Inter, where he won an historic treble in 2010, which included a Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich.
