The Executive Chairman of Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon Samuel Mariere, has urged the state’s team at the finals of the Basic Education Sport holding in Abuja to stay focused and make the state proud.
Mariere expressed optimism about the team’s chances, citing the thorough training and logistical preparations that have been put in place even as he also highlighted the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to taking education to the next level in the state.
The chairman who spoke as the team, Ogoma Primary School, Ogwashi-Uku departed for Abuja wished them the best of luck.
The school emerged victorious at the state level and is expected to face 28 other schools from across the nation at the finals
Mariere emphasised the state’s commitment to development of sports from the grassroots level, stating that Delta State will “stop at nothing in catching them young.”
“This initiative aligns with the Oborevwori administration’s vision to take education and sports to the next level,” he said.
The team’s sendoff was attended by notable officials, including the Permanent Secretary to the Board, Sir Byron Unini, and Director Academic Services, Mrs. Francisca Okpeh.
