Ndidi not 100% for Leicester —Genk Director

Leicester City’s move for Genk star Wilfred Ndidi is not yet complete, according to the Belgian club’s director of sport.

It has been widely reported that the midfielder has all but joined the Premier League champions having completed a medical.

Although the two clubs seem to have agreed a £15m fee, Genk director of sport Dimitri De Conde says there is still work to be done on the deal.

And, most alarming for Leicester, De Conde has revealed that they are not the only club currently hopeful of landing Ndidi.

He told Belgian newspaper L’Avenir: “Seeing Ndidi and Leon Bailey leave in January? It’s possible, but I’m going to do everything in my power to stop it from happening.

“Our plan was to replace them next season only. And yes, for Ndidi, we’re talking with Leicester, but they aren’t the only club interested.”

Meanwhile, Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is coy over their imminent first January signing.

Genk defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has confirmed he is joining Leicester in January after he was heavily linked with a £15m switch.

But Ranieri dodged the chance to confirm the signing of the 19-year-old Nigeria international.

“I don’t know – it’s speculation. I know your business, you understand my business.

“I don’t think who might arrive or go – all I think about is who is the best solution .”
