The skipper has disclosed that his team is eager to beat the hosts to claim this year’s African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations trophy
Senegal beach soccer captain Seyni Ndiaye has revealed that his side’s ambition in the Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations final is to clinch the trophy at the expense of Nigeria in Lagos.
Ndiaye who inspired his side to a 5-2 semi-final victory over Egypt to seal a World Cup ticket insists his team is determined to make a triumphant home return as continental champions.
“We are done with Egpyt and now in the final, we want to win and return to Senegal with the trophy,” Ndiaye told Goal.
“We want to beat Nigeria on their home soil and prove once again that we are the best in Africa.
“Last time we lost to Madagascar in the final in Seychelles but this time we want to give our best to avoid another defeat in the final.
“It is part of our dreams coming to this tournament. First, we wanted to qualify for the World Cup which we have done and the next is to win the trophy.”
They will take on coach Audu Adamu’s men in the final on Sunday at the Eko Atlantic Beach after the third place final match.
