Ndidi, Omeruo latest arrivals in Eagles camp

Wilfred Ndidi and Kenneth Omeruo were the latest to arrive in the Super Eagles camp as Nigeria began preparations on Monday for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Before the arrival of midfielder Ndidi and defender Omeruo in the Nigeria camp in Asaba, 18 players had reported for preparations.

In all 25 players have been invited by coach Gernot Rohr for camping towards preparations for the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations which starts in 17 days in Egypt. Two players will eventually be dropped from the squad that will make it to Egypt.

Captain Mikel Obi, returning to the team for the first time since the last FIFA World Cup in Russia, was one of the early arrivals in Asaba.

Others in camp include Leon Balogun, Jamilu Collins,Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Kalu, Oghenekaro Etebo, John Ogu and Victor Osimhen.

The rest are Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Samuel Chukwueze, Ola Aina, Henry Onyekuru, Paul Onuachu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Francis Uzoho.

The five players still being expected are Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, William Troost-Ekong, Odion Ighalo and Alex Iwobi.

While in Asaba, the Eagles will hone their skills at the Stephen Keshi stadium. At the stadium, they will play host to Zimbabwe in a friendly match on Saturday, June 8.

Their last friendly match will be against Senegal in Ismaila, Egypt, before flying into Alexandria where they will play their group matches against Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi.
