After an intensive week of rumours, N’Golo Kante has finally signed his new Chelsea contract.
It’s a 5 year deal, taking the Frenchman up to 2023, securing him – or at the very least securing a massive fee for him – through the prime of his career.
At 27 now, we will now see the best years of Kante at Stamford Bridge, in addition to the two superb seasons he’s already given us.
He won the title and the PFA footballer of the year award two years ago, and kept that form up last season with some superb efforts even as the rest of the team crumbled around him.

Recent interest from PSG made it vital to secure him long term, as Maurizio Sarri searches for the ideal way to integrate him into this team.
In the statement announcing the deal on the Chelsea website, Marina Granovskaia praised his “tireless and unselfsh displays”.
He’s certainly going to be in a position to be unselfish now he’s earning reportedly north of £250,000 a week.
