Nigerian Army 2 Division organises 28th Tiger Golf Opens Tournament

THE Tiger Golf Club of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan, has organized the 28th edition of the Tiger Golf Tournament, which holds from December 1 to 3.

Making this known on Monday, the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Brigadier-General G.C. Nkenke, said that over 200 golfers had registered for the tournament, while about 17 trophies are expected to be won.

The special guest of honour for the event is the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Nkenke disclosed.

According to him, the tournament will commence with a cocktail on December 1 and end with an elaborate closing ceremony on the December 3.

The golf tournament is an annual event organized by the 2 Divison, Nigerian Army to promote interaction among golf enthusiasts in the country.

The tournament has grown from its humble beginning 27 years ago and has contributed towards sports, the game of golf.

The tournament also fosters civil- military relations, as civilians also participate in it.
