Despite the inability to make the podium at the just-ended IAAF/BTC World Relays Bahamas 2017, Nigeria’s 4x400m women’s relay team qualified for the 16th IAAF World Championships scheduled for August in London.
The quartet of Patience Okon-George, Ugonna Ndu, Jennifer Adaeze Edobi and Margaret Bamgbose posted a time of 3:32.94 secs to finish seventh on the table, a feat which earned Nigeria a ticket to London 2017.
Nigeria also finished ahead of France which posted 3:35.03 secs to also qualify, in the race won by the United States of America (USA) at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium.
Poland and Jamaica finished second and third respectively, while Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Botswana placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
