Neymar has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain and Cristiano Ronaldo has been rumoured to be on his way out of Real Madrid, however, the two clubs are not considering a trade.
It was reported that Nasser Al-Khelaifi went to Sochi this weekend to watch Portugal vs Spain and to try to persuade Ronaldo to join the Ligue 1 champions, but the truth is that Al-Khelaifi was in Doha at the time of the match.
The directors at the Parc des Princes are counting on Neymar for the 2018/19 season, assuming they aren’t handed a sanction from UEFA for Financial Fair Play violations.
To take on another massive expense to try to sign Ronaldo would be to play with fire, while swapping Neymar for the Portugal captain isn’t a likely option either, with the French club keen to keep the Brazilian for at least one more season after he had productive meetings with Thomas Tuchel.
The fact that Neymar recently stated in an interview that he happy in Paris is further reason for PSG to trust he’ll stay.
