Despite a recent slump in form by his side, the Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote, is not giving up on the team’s quest for a continental ticket.
The Oluyole Warriors dropped to the sixth position on the log after matchday 29 games, no thanks to a 0-2 loss to Akwa United in Uyo.
When asked how feasible the dream of finishing on a continental spot was, Ogunbote said during the post-match interview that the Ibadan soccer lords will continue to push till the end.

“We have nine matches to decide that, we have gone seven games without a win, it could be any other team, so when we pick up, maybe some other team will fizzle out. We will give it a fight until the end,” he said.
On Sunday’s loss to Akwa United, the Oracle as coach Ogunbote is fondly called, described it as unfortunate, blaming it on careless moments in the second half of the encounter.
“We did everything humanly possible but we were careless at some moments. This wasn’t a true reflection of the game. But we lost, that’s the summary of it all.
“All we need to do is to go back and see where we got it wrong and get back to winning ways”, added the Shooting Stars’ tactician.
