The Heartland Queens FC Coach, Obi Ogbala, has tendered an unreserved apology to the people of Imo State over the club’s failure to qualify for Super Six Championship
This is as the National Women’s Football League (NWFL) draws to a close.
Answering questions from the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) after their 1-0 defeat against Adamawa Queens FC, at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Coach Ogbala said that the club has been in the Super Six before.
He acknowledged the fact that the last season that had just ended was not too good for the club after they had worked very hard to make it.

Coach Ogbala pointed out that even the away draws they got were also part of the factors that actually affected his team; however added that despite that, the club did well.
He also said that another issue that also affected them and even contributed to their failure to qualify is the movement of some of his players to national duty, adding that it does not outrightly mean that other players did not play.
He said, “Some of my players are on national duty, and that also affected us, not that others did not do well.
“Actually, we worked hard, did recruitment of strong players aimed to be in the Super Six championship, but our journey was not good for us.”
In the President Federation Cup championship, the Coach reiterated that he has already set out to achieve his target, which is to play the finals.
He recalled that last season, the club ended at the quarter-final, but assured that with the support of Imolites, the club, which failed to qualify for the Super Six championship, will make a difference at the Federation Cup.
Coach Ogbala paid special tribute to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his support of the club and for being behind them.
