A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) silver medalist in the ongoing 7th National Youth Games (NYG), master Ihensenkhien Jayden, has revealed his lifelong ambition is to surpass the record of former world 100m champion, Usain Bolt of Jamaica
This, the young and promising Jayden promised to break Usain Bolt’s records in ten years time
The promising athlete was the cynosure of all eyes at the games, as he outran his fellow athletes with sparkling innocence despite being glued to the eyes of hundreds of spectators and admirers, who took keen interest in him.
The Edo state indigene competed in the 200m race where he achieved his personal best of 21.9 seconds
Speaking of his love for athletics which prompted his involvement and desire to set a world record, Ihensenkhien Jayden said: “I like this sport from my childhood
“I love this really and there’s no way to express my passion for the sport. Aside from competing, it keeps me healthy also”, he added.
On his personal ambition: “I have a very big target for myself, I just got a new personal best and I hope that as the games progresses I will keep getting personal best
“My target in this competition is to get at least two golds in the 200m race.
Asked about his role model, he said: “Usain Bolt is my role model and I wish to surpass his record hopefully in the next 10 years. You will be hearing my name everywhere.”
