The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and his wife, Shade Olukoya, have celebrated Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, describing her as “one of our very own” during a special recognition held at the church’s Lagos headquarters.
Ajibade visited the church on Saturday during the monthly Power Must Change Hands programme, fresh from her triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where she led Nigeria to victory.
In a show of humility and gratitude, the Atlético Madrid star presented her WAFCON medal, Woman of the Match award, and a customised Super Falcons jersey bearing the inscription “OLUKOYA 01” to Olukoya and his wife.
Taking to social media, Olukoya wrote, “We celebrate the faithfulness of God in the life of our very own Rasheedat Ajibade. We give God all the glory for His grace upon her life and pray that the same grace… will continue to lead them into even greater victories.”
Ajibade, who began her career at MFM FC Women’s team, is widely regarded as one of the success stories of the church’s youth and sports outreach initiative. Her rise from MFM’s grassroots setup to global football prominence has been an inspiration to many.
The 25-year-old’s return to the altar where her journey began was described by observers as a moment of destiny.
Her strong Christian values and public acknowledgement of her spiritual roots have set her apart both on and off the pitch.
Ajibade played a crucial role in Nigeria’s WAFCON 2024 campaign, captaining the team and scoring key goals en route to lifting the country’s 12th continental title. Her leadership and performance earned her accolades throughout the tournament.
