Onazi donates N1m to Super Falcons

Super Eagles star, Ogenyi Onazi has thrown his weight behind protesting reigning African champions, Nigeria’s Super Falcons by donating N1million to them.

A source close to the team revealed the Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder showed concern about the plight of the Falcons which defeated hosts, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 to win the 10th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) for a record, eighth time.

“Onazi is a fantastic man and supported the Super Falcons with N1million, that really helped the ladies,” a source reported.

“He also gave one of the injured players N200,000 for her treatment. He is a wonderful guy. I was aware some of the girls called him to complain about their plight and he helped them.”

The Falcons have embarked on a sit-in protest at their Abuja hotel and also staged a protest march demanding their entitlements to be paid.
