The Ondo State Weightlifting Association has inaugurated a six-man executive to steer the affairs of the association in the state with a seasoned sports analyst and administrator Syvester Ikuejamoye as the Chairman of the new board.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the newly-appointed media officer of the weightlifting association, Olayemi Oke.
The new Chairman, Ikuejamoye who promised to consolidate and improve upon the past achievements recorded by the association in the state, called on all members of the board to remain committed to the course of taking the association to a greater height.
Ikuejamoye solicited for the cooperation of all the members of the association in order to make weightlifting as one of the best sports in the state.
He assured that new talents would be discovered in the state through various and periodic events that will be organized from time to time
Other members of the board also expressed their readiness to raise the standard of the game in the state, saying that weighlifting will be given a new face in the state.
Other members of the board include, Dr. Ayodele Adelusi, vice chairman, Dr. Samuel Akingbesote, Lasisi Yussuf, Olayemi Oke, media officer while Mrs Oluwaseun Ojo would be serving as the secretary of the association.
The media officer, Oke said the new board will soon roll out its programmes, saying they were expected to hit the ground running.
