Osimhen wins AIC Footballer of the Year Award

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has clinched the Italian Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year, following a victorious season in Napoli.

After leading the line in the Partenopei’s first title-winning season in 33 years, Osimhen and his teammates clinched various awards during the ceremony on Monday evening.

Video of Osimhen receiving the award was shared on the X page of the association late Monday.

The Footballer of the Year is considered the most prestigious award of the night and has previously been awarded to the likes of Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Football Italia reports.

Osimhen was selected as the 2023 winner due to his goalscoring contributions, as he scored 26 times during 32 Serie A appearances.
