Ospina arrives Italy to finalise loan move to Napoli

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina arrived in Italy on Thursday ahead of his loan move to Napoli, which could be made permanent.

The Colombia shot-stopper, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Gunners, was seen in Rome with a Napoli scarf.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery last week said Carl Jenkinson, Ospina and Joel Campbell had all been informed they were surplus to requirements.

The Gunners signed German international keeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in a £20million deal in June.

With the summer addition and last year’s No 1 Petr Cech still at the club, Ospina faces limited game time at the Emirates.

He was predominantly used in the Europa League last season, making just five league appearances.

According to the Evening Standard, the Serie A side will pay £895,000 for the loan switch and have the possibility to sign him permanently next summer for around £3.58million.

Since joining Arsenal in 2014 the 29-year-old has made 29 Premier League appearances, keeping 13 clean sheets.
