Team Nigeria’s Ijomah Kingsley has qualified for the second round of the Rowing men single SCULLs held at the Sea Forest Waterway.
Kingsley returned in a time of 11.50.87s, which was good enough to see him through to the next stage of the paralympics rowing event.
Speaking with Sportingtribune after his qualification, an elated Kingsley said, “Participating in the Paralympics is an honour for me, for the first time I held my own in an event of this magnitude. I will give my best so I can achieve a better result in the next stage. I am looking forward to qualifying for the final on Sunday.”

The UK based Nigeria who also described the treat given to the athletes as wonderful called on many Nigerians to take to Rowing describing it one of the best sports that is good for one to develop mentally,” the 39 year old athlete said.
Nigeria is presently placed 20th on the medals table alongside Jordan, but there are hopes she would climb higher after some Powerlifting events are concluded.
