Former Nigerian international and coach of Al Khartoum Watani FC, Emmanuel Amuneke has said he is frustrated his Sudanese team have continued to struggle at home while doing the business on the road.
Al Khartoum Watani have won all but one of their away matches in the Sudanese Premier League, but lost their third home game on Monday.
“Playing well at away and failing to consolidate at home is a big problem for us,” the former African Footballer of the Year told scorenigeria.com.ng.
“We will keep pushing till we get it right. I believe that the players are just a bit nervous at home which leads to anxiety and we ended up losing the match.”
Reflecting on a painful end to the Sudanese Premier League first round, the former Nigeria’s U-17 and U-20 coach said, “So painful to end the first round with a defeat although overall it has been a good season so far especially because we performed well away from home which for me represents a strange league.”
