Premier League referee Michael Salisbury will not officiate the next round of fixtures after he failed to award Brighton a penalty during their 2-1 defeat by Tottenham last Saturday.
Salisbury was the VAR official for the match and was heavily criticized for not intervening to give the spot-kick.
Refereeing organization PGMOL apologized to Brighton for the error and dropped Salisbury from the upcoming fixtures.

The on-pitch referee for the game, Stuart Attwell, will serve as the VAR official for the Wolves-Brentford match. Salisbury will referee the Queens Park Rangers-Coventry City game in the Championship instead.
Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi expressed his disappointment at the decision, highlighting that his team would be in sixth place if the penalty was given.
