Premier League unveils April Player of the Month nominees

The Premier League has announced the shortlist for the EA Sports Player of the Month award for April.

The list includes eight players, with Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Alexander Isak, and Callum Wilson being the top contenders.

Haaland set a new Premier League record by scoring two braces against Southampton and Leicester, and then tied the record for most goals in a season with a penalty against Fulham. De Bruyne registered three goals and three assists, helping Manchester City secure a crucial win over Arsenal.

Crystal Palace’s Ebere Eze, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke are also on the shortlist for their impressive performances. Eze has scored four goals since Roy Hodgson’s return, while Watkins scored five times and provided one assist.

Solanke played a key role in easing Bournemouth’s relegation fears with a series of match-winning performances. Liverpool’s Diogo Jota rounds off the list after scoring two braces against Leeds and Nottingham Forest, and a stoppage-time winner against Tottenham, ending his goal drought in style.

The winner of the award will be determined by a public vote, which is open until May 6th. The announcement will be made on May 14th.
