Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, is facing accusations of kidnapping and torture, with three investigating judges in Paris appointed to examine the case.
Tayeb Benabderrahmane filed a complaint several months ago claiming he was tortured in Qatar in 2020 for possessing documents containing compromising information on Al-Khelaïfi.
The matter is believed to be connected to the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar or awarding of television rights of coverage at the 2026 and 2030 World Cups in the Middle East to BeIN Media.

L’Équipe initially reported that Benabderrahmane filed a complaint with a civil action. French laws allow for a judicial investigation to be conducted in regard to the alleged crimes.
His lawyers, Maïtres Romain Ruiz and Gabriel Vejnar claimed to be “very satisfied” with the outcome after spending months trying to get the attention of the French justice, who they criticised for a lack of action.
It is believed that the information Benabderrahmane had information that could be stored on the phone belonging to Al-Khelaïfi.
Al-Khelaïfi has already been investigated and acquitted in relation to this subject, due to his relationship with the former Secretary General of FIFA, Jerôme Vackle.
