Paris Saint-Germain secured a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title on Wednesday after a 2-0 victory over RC Lens confirmed their dominance in French football once again.
The win moved Luis Enrique’s side nine points clear at the top of the table with only one game left to play, sealing a record-extending 14th French league title for the Paris club.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the 29th minute after capitalising on a defensive mistake from Lens. Ousmane Dembélé intercepted a loose pass from Malang Sarr before setting up the Georgian winger, who calmly finished for his 19th goal of the season.
Lens pushed for an equaliser and created several chances during the contest, but PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov produced important saves to keep the hosts in front.

Wesley Saïd failed to convert from close range in the first half, while Abdallah Sima was denied before later striking the post in the second half.
PSG eventually wrapped up the game in stoppage time when 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye finished from Désiré Doué’s pass, with the ball crashing in off the crossbar.
The result completed another successful domestic campaign for Luis Enrique, who has now guided PSG to three league titles since taking charge in 2023. The club had already lifted the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup and French Champions Trophy earlier this season.
PSG could still finish the campaign with another major trophy when they face Arsenal F.C. in the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest on May 30. Victory would make the French side only the second club in the modern era to retain the European crown.
The fixture against Lens had originally been scheduled for April but was postponed to allow PSG prepare for their Champions League quarter-final clash against Liverpool F.C..
Despite resting several regular starters, including Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz, PSG still controlled key moments of the contest to confirm another league triumph.
Lens, meanwhile, are guaranteed a second-place finish and qualification for next season’s Champions League league phase. They will also face OGC Nice in the French Cup final on May 22.
PSG have now won 12 of the last 14 Ligue 1 titles, continuing the dominance established under their Qatari ownership.
