Ramsey and Ozil to miss PL opener ―Wenger

After winning the Community Shield, Arsene Wenger has admitted Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey will likely miss the beginning of the Premier League season.

The French manager believes Per Mertesacker will be fit for Friday’s Premier League opener after catching an accidental elbow against Chelsea, but Ozil and Ramsey are unlikely to be fit.

Aaron Ramsey has a minor calf problem which kept him out of the Community Shield and will likely see him miss the clash against Leicester at the Emirates on Friday.

The German playmaker, on the other hand, has a swollen ankle, which also kept him out of the Wembley win. He will also sit out the Foxes’ visit, with Wenger saying ‘he has little chance to play on Friday night’.
