The tactician reveals they have payed close attention to how the Olukoya Boys and Oga Boys fared in their debut season in the top flight
Newly promoted side, Remo Stars have summed up lessons learnt from MFM FC and Ikorodu United’s experience playing in the Nigerian top flight.
The Sky Blue Stars’ coach, Nduka Ugbade has revealed that having a proper plan in place is key to surviving at the highest level.
“One obvious fact is that a team can fall into any situation but if a plan is carefully implemented there’s every likelihood that such a situation can be avoided. What happened to MFM FC is kind of strange for a team that came from the lower league to the NPFL. It is very important to plan very well and get the right philosophy in the team,” Ugbade told Goal.
“We shall take each match as it comes, we aren’t building castle in the wind at Remo Stars, the main target for us is to remain in the NPFL.
“We would have learnt a lot concerning the NPFL in our debut season and hopefully go all out in the second season.”
Ugbade has however sent a warning signal to teams in the NPFL.
“Let me assure you that Remo Stars is going to be very tough, very strong and very formidable, we are going to compete for every point regardless of where we play,” he continued.
“Apart from handling Remo Stars, i have a philosophy and i feel it hasn’t been dealt with properly in Africa and in the past seven years i have been making good use of football science to produce some amazing talent. We are the youngest and the smallest in the league when you talk of body mass. We shall offer quality, speed, intelligence and purpose football just like we are used to.
“After seeing what has happened to both MFM FC and Ikorodu United in the NPFL , we shall build a formidable team that can withstand the pressure in the top flight league.”
