Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley down West Ham in brilliant second half display as sorry Hammers revert back to poor form after back to back wins in the league

ROSS BARKLEY scored the winner to get his first goal since the opening weekend of the season as Everton beat West Ham to go two points behind Tottenham.

Romelu Lukaku scored to give Everton the lead in the 5oth minute with his ninth goal in 11 games against West Ham more than he has scored against anyone else in the Premier League.

Everton struggled to get going in the first half as Ronald Koeman looked a frustrated figure on the touchline as the Toffees missed placed passes and gave the ball away far to cheaply.

Dimitri Payet impressed in the first half for West Ham along with team mate Manuel Lanzini as they continued to pose a threat to the Everton defence with their link up play causing gaps to open for Michail Antonio.

WHAT THEY SAID

Everton manager Ronald Koeman:

”The second half was much more like we like to play.

The first goal gave us that confidance to grow and get better.”

West ham manager Slaven Bilic:

“They were more lethal and more cruel when they were offered something from us.

We didn’t capitalise on our chances.”
