Cristiano Ronaldo equalled Paco Gento's record last night.
Despite starting the game on the bench, Cristiano Ronaldo still managed to be the centre of attention during last night’s Spanish Super Cup, not only for his red card but also for his sumptuous goal that entered him into the ‘El Clásico’ history books.
The goal was Ronaldo’s 11th ‘Clásico’ goal away from home, a figure only matched by Real Madrid legend Paco Gento.
The record-equalling strike slipped under the radar in all the excitement but it was revealled on Twitter by ‘MisterChip’.
The night was a memorable one for Ronaldo, who made his 396th appearance for ‘Los Blancos’, drawing him level with another Real legend, the great Alfredo Di Stefano.
