Ronaldo fired past Akinfeev to score his first goal of the tournament

He had not managed to score against Mexico, despite being named the man of the match. It only took him 7 minutes to score against Russia and take Portugal up to first place in the group.

Guerreiro crossed from the left flank into the far post with the ball sailing over Kudryashov and into the path of Ronaldo.

The captain made no mistake to nod the ball past a powerless Akinfeev. His future is uncertain, but CR7 continues to do what he does best: score goals.
