Ronaldo honours himself at ‘CR7 Gala’

It has been another remarkable year for Cristiano Ronaldo – and what better way to celebrate than throwing a party in his own honour.

After a 2017 that saw him win the Champions League, La Liga and Club World Cup with Real Madrid, as well as earn a record-equalling fifth Ballon D’Or and become a father to three more children, Ronaldo threw what was dubbed the ‘CR7 Gala’.

Ronaldo organised the evening himself to mark his achievements in the company of his family and friends.

They posed for pictures on the red carpet, with the ‘CR7’ logo looming large in the background, the snaps posted to Instagram.

Present, along with Ronaldo, were his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, mother Dolores Aveiro, his sisters Katia and Elma, and his brother Hugo.

Ronaldo wore a tuxedo, featuring a blue-patterned jacket, while his guests were also decked out in their finest gear.

The post-Christmas celebrations come after Ronaldo laughed off claims he could face jail over tax fraud allegations by posing with his young children on Instagram, captioned ‘I’m a prisoner of these babies’.

Spanish daily El Mundo reported Caridad Gomez Mourelo, head of the Spanish Tax Agency’s fiscal crime unit, said ‘we have people in prison for not paying £110,000’, with the claims against Ronaldo reaching as much as £13million.

Ronaldo responded with a cosy snap on social media with his six-week-old daughter Alana Martina in his arms and his six-month-old twins Eva and Mateo beside him.
