Ronaldo pact with Spanish authorities only if he confesses and pays

Cristiano Ronaldo’s tax fraud scandal continues as the striker is scheduled to appear in court on the 31st of July.

Cristiano Ronaldo will have the chance to reach a pact with the public prosecutors, but chances of mitigating the blow are only an option if the Real Madrid striker repairs the damage and admits to everything.

In that case, the prosecutors will refuse a pact with Ronaldo if he does not first accept the reasons for which he has been charged and pays the corresponding amount.

The Spanish Penal Code, under section 305.6, allows the possibilty of reaching an agreement once the accused party ‘satisfies the public debt and recognises the facts in court’.

The Portugal captain will do nothing until the 31st of July, when he is set to appear in court to declare and defend himself.

The striker has until the 15th of August to reach an agreement with the prosecutors and try to reduce the sentence, but all the same, as long as he admits to the charges and repairs the damage.
