Super Eagles goalkeeper’s trainer, Alloy Agu has allayed fear that the goalkeeping area is the banana peel for Nigeria ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
“We must know exactly where we started, where we are and where we are going at the moment.
“Carl Ikeme stabilised the goalkeeping area before he suddenly took ill which we have continually been praying for his speedy recovery.
“Daniel Akpeyi came in to perform wonderfully well in some matches but did not do well in the AFCON match against South Africa.
“Ikechukwu Ezenwa has been doing quite well in most of the matches heading to our qualification for the World Cup,” the former Lagos NEPA goalkeeper told Supersport.com.
Agu noted that the preoccupation of the technical crew remains how to produce a balanced team ahead of the mundial 2018.
“Right now we are looking at all the departments not only goalkeeping to deliver the goods for Nigeria at the World Cup.
“Goalkeeping is not an exception, we have got a youngster, Francis Uzoho we are still looking in and outside.
“Dele Ajiboye has come in at some points in time, we are exploring all options to give Nigeria the best in virtually all the departments,” the former Nasarawa United goalkeeper coach said.
Nigerians are worried over the quality of goalkeepers in our hands heading to the World Cup leading to calls for a recall from retirement the Eagles shot stopper, Vincent Enyeama.
