Russia 2018: Lionel Messi can’t do it alone ―Modric

Luka Modric has made blunt comments about Lionel Messi’s display against Croatia in the World Cup.

Argentina is one of the favourites to win the World Cup and more so Lionel Messi is tipped to lead Albiceleste to the title in Russia,

However, the possibility of that happening is now looking slim as Messi and his teammates failed to get the right blend to win games.

The Barcelona forward was not at his best against Iceland in their opening game and he also missed a penalty to could have given them the win against Iceland.

Messi was also missing in their defeat against Croatia as he barely touched the ball in entire 90 minutes as he was totally disconnected from his team.

Real Madrid midfielder – and Man of the Match on the night – Luka Modric has a few words for his rival.

“Messi is an incredible player,”

“But he can’t do everything alone. In football you need help and it can’t be done alone.” Modric said.

With the likes of Angel di Maria, Sergio Aguero, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain they failed to assert a total control over Group D as their hope to qualify does not lie in hands.
