AC Milan forward, Christian Pulisic, has spoken publicly for the first time since his breakup with golfer Alexa Melton, reflecting on their relationship and insisting there is no negativity following the split.
Melton confirmed last month that she had separated from the USA international.
In an interview with Time Magazine ahead of this summer’s World Cup, Pulisic described Melton positively, saying she encouraged him to enjoy life more and step away from constant football focus.

“I only look at her in the most positive way,” the former Chelsea star said.
“She was a lot of fun, and she supported me in every way. She wanted to push me to enjoy my life a little bit more and do things with her and do things just in general. And I was grateful for that.”
His comments come after weeks of online discussion surrounding the breakup. Melton had initially sparked speculation on social media before later withdrawing parts of her statement and clarifying her position.
Pulisic, however, moved to calm the situation, making it clear there is no conflict between the two parties.
The pair had previously shared details of their relationship in a documentary, where Pulisic explained how it began.
Melton also reflected on the early interaction, saying, “I got the DM and I was like ‘who is this dude with 8m followers and why is he DMing me?’ And then I scrolled through his Instagram, and I was like ‘Oh he’s a big-time soccer player’.”
At the time, Pulisic described her as “a really special girl” and spoke about how his mindset had changed before entering the relationship.
“I guess I never got to a point where I was ready for it, and that’s something I’ve really changed my mentality with and also my faith, and that in a lot of ways has sort of led me to her,” he said.
