Smokin Hills Golf Resort plans big for EWOMGT

The most challenging golf course on the African continent, Smoking Hills Golf Resorts, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State has announced November 8-9 for the 16th edition of Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament (EWOMGT).

The invitational golf event has become a recurring feature in the diary of events of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited that has been sponsoring consistently for 16 years, with objective of management is to preserve the memory of Late Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo with all she lived for according to a release signed by Manager Marketing and Promotions of the resort, Prince Bayo Aderinto.

“Against this background, we are pleased to inform you that this tournament that will involve both professional and amateurs will be holding for the sixth time at the privately-owned Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State founded by Chief Michael Ade Ojo OON,” Aderinto noted.

He added that “the Shot Gun System will be adopted for the tournament as it was in the previous editions, as the tourney will tee off on Friday, November 8 by professionals at 7:30 am while the amateur men and ladies will take to the endearing topography of the Smokin Hills on Saturday, November 9 to display their artistry on the course.

“It is worth noting that Toyota (Nigeria) Limited in its characteristic manner will be sponsoring the star prize of hole in one on hole 13 with a prize of N5, 000,000 (Five Million Naira only) while some of the models from the stables of Toyota will also be on display during the tournament in order to avail golfers and other dignitaries that will grace this occasion an ample opportunity to touch and feel the Toyota models,” the statement reads.

The golf event is expected to bring together captains of industries, Businessmen and notable personalities to the sprawling city of Ilara-Mokin, in Ondo state as drones of golf enthusiasts from all over the country have registered for the tournament which promises to leave an enduring golfing experience that will be hard to miss.

The tournament which is expected to bring together captains of industries, businessmen and personalities to the resort will have Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the Chief host.
