No fewer than 150 golfers would feature in the 6th Sovereign Trust Golf Open scheduled to tee off this weekend at the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC).
Speaking with Corporatesport, Managing Director/CEO, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Mr Olaotan Soyinka, said the sponsorship of the competition in the last six years was part of the organisation’s contribution to the development sports in the country at large.
Soyinka stated that sponsoring tournament gives the organisation satisfaction as it forms part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities adding that “giving back to the society in whatever measure is an indication of true appreciation of what customers, business stakeholders and the general public mean to any organisation”.
Meanwhile, Captain of IGC, Barrister Idowu Salami said logistics have been put in place to make the three-day event a memorable one.
“Sovereign Trust Insurance’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr Olaotan Soyinka has assured us of continuous support as the tourney is now in the nation’s golfing calendar and we are expecting golfers across the country to participate,” Salami said.
Also, Head of Corporate Communications/Brand Management, Sovereign Trust Insurance, Mr Segun Bankole said that his outfit has set machinery in motion to ensure that every participant goes home with a delightful experience at the end of the competition.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturtday and Sunday while the cocktail party will on Friday by 7pm.
