Sports journalists, part of my success story ―Ogunjobi

Chairman, Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, has attributed his success story in the football fraternity to the immense contributions of sports journalists.

Ogunjobi stated this while playing host to members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State chapter, led by its chairman, Adeniyi Alebiosu, who had gone to intimate him of the association’s annual sports week scheduled to hold from December 11 to December 15 in Ibadan.

He noted that he would not have achieved a lot in football circle if not for the unalloyed support he received from the members of SWAN, particularly in Oyo State.

“No matter how brilliant I may think I am, nobody would have noticed what I was able to offer if I do not enjoy adequate publicity, both in the print and electronic media, not to talk of getting recognised by different organisations through awards and all forms of recognition. Therefore, I owe you guys a lot of gratitude for giving me the needed support at a time when it mattered most.”

Ogunjobi is one of the recipients of the awards to conferred on personalities during the Oyo SWAN awards/dinner, coming up on Friday, December 15. He then promised to offer the needed support to Oyo SWAN towards a successful hosting of the 2017 annual sports week.

The chairman, Oyo SWAN, Adeniyi Alebiosu, while thanking Chief Ogunjobi for acknowledging the contributions of sports writers to success story, pledged continued support for the former secretary-general of the Nigeria Football Association while also appreciating his kind gestures to sports journalists all the time.
