Gibson has launched an incredible attack on his Sunderland team-mates
In the wake of Saturday’s 5-0 friendly drubbing at the hands of a second string Celtic side, the Republic of Ireland international was caught in a local pub looking rather worse for wear.
The 29-year-old told Sunderland fans “Sunderland are s**t” before sharing a few choice words about some of his team-mates, saying that “There are too many people at the club who don’t give a f**k.”
The midfielder appeared to be referring to Lamine Kone, Wahbi Khazri and Jeremain Lens.
The assembled fans then quizzed Gibson on his loyalty, given that he was quite clearly inebriated less than a week before the Championship’s curtain-raiser against Derby.
“I might be off my face in here but I still want to play for Sunderland, the rest of them f***ing don’t though. The rest of them don’t,” he replied.
A quite incredible outburst from the Manchester United academy product.
