Reports on Tuesday suggested that Sterling could be used as part of a sensational deal to bring Sanchez to Manchester, but it is understood Pep Guardiola’s side are committed to a cash-only deal.
Arsenal have rejected a £50m offer for their prized asset but City are expected to return with an improved bid before Thursday evening’s transfer deadline.
Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne admits his team would benefit from Sanchez’s arrival.
He told the same source, “He’s a very good player, obviously but I don’t know what’s happening about the other transfers.
“I think City is doing the business perfectly this summer and if they want him they will try everything to get him. And if he comes to us that’s a good addition.”
