Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland and immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare has described the appointment of Prince Ghandi Olaoye as Soun- elect as a welcome and timely development.
Dare also thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his forthrightness and decisiveness in making the firm decision. He also recognised the efforts of Ogbomoso indigenes in the cabinet and many others who intervened to see this through.
“Governor Makinde by this singular act has fertilized the soil for the development and growth of Ogbomosoland,” he said.
Extolling the virtues of the new monarch, Chief Dare stressed that the Soun-elect has the capacity to consolidate on the achievements of the late Oba Oyewumi.
In a goodwill message, Dare urged the new traditional ruler to uphold the legacies of his forebears.
He said, ” I congratulate Prince Ghandi Olaoye on his appointment as Soun- elect. The choice of the new monarch is good for the sake of the progress and development of Ogbomosoland. He is a man equipped for this new assignment even as the appointed time has come just as the Lord ordained.
“I am optimistic like many other sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, that the new monarch will live up to expectations by sustaining the remarkable legacies of his predecessor, who championed the development of Ogbomosoland with his position.
“The Soun- elect will be collectively supported by all and sundry in steering the affairs of his domain. We will rally, we will pray, we will work with him and counsel him for the good and betterment of Ogbomosoland.”
Dare wished the new monarch a long and successful reign.
