The management of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Ondo state, on Tuesday, unveiled a new Technical Adviser for the club, Kabir Dogo, who will steer the activities of the football club for the next season.
Speaking during unveiling, Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Mr. Tajudeen Akinyemi, explained that the state Football Club, Sunshine Stars, was never disbanded but said the agency only reorganised ahead of the new season.
He charged the new coach to ensure the promotion and positioning of the club to its rightful place saying Dogo has been mandated to turn around the fortune of the club within the country and continent.
Akinyemi said some factors were put into consideration before the appointment of Dogo saying young talents that would help the feeders team of Sunshine Stars’ players to promote to the main team would be made vibrant during the next season.
He said “There are a lot of rumours that Sunshine Stars has been dissolved, that is not true, it is all about reorganisation process and putting right people in right places.

“If you organise very well, it means that you will get good result,that is why we called on Dogo to come and help us here. His CV has spoken for itself,” he said.
Responding, the new Technical Adviser, Dogo said his move to the Akure side was not motivated by money, but closeness to his family in Ilorin and the urge to raise the standard of football in the state.
He said priority would be given to the development of grassroots football, saying the state sport agency would soon be a hub for developing young talents in the country.
He called for the support of all stakeholders to ensure the success of the Sunshine club while he vowed to give his best as the head coach of the state owned club.
“Other clubs might have the millions, but I may not be loved like I am here, my son is in a boarding school in Akure, which formed part of my decision making.
“Before I can enter the pitch, welfare of the players is very important and from the assurance given to me by the chairman, they will be paid. I believe with cooperation, we will achieve greatness with this team, ” he said.
Dogo recently resigned as the manager of NPFL side, Nassarawa United two weeks ago, after spending five seasons with the club.

The state Commissioner for Sports, said only good results could justify the huge investment the government was making on the team and meet supporters yearnings.
“We do not expect anything short of a run of good results throughout the season. This is the only way the team can be on top of the log at end of the season.
“Sunshine Stars need to rediscover the form that took them to continental football a few years ago. Being the the only team being funded by government in the South West that is in the premier league, the team has to do well
“The choice of Coach Dogo Suleiman by the management is a welcome development. He has a track record of achievements. We look forward to him replicating such here.
“I am advising both the coaching crew and management to work together as division among you could derail your dreams,” he said.
