Super Eagles drop five places to 40th spot in latest FIFA rankings

In the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, dropped five places from 35th to 40th in the world.

The decline is likely due to their poor performance during the last international break, which included a loss to Guinea-Bissau in one of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

As a result of the drop, Nigeria has fallen to sixth position on the African continent, behind both Egypt and Algeria.

However, the team is still ranked higher than their rivals Ghana and Cameroon, who are ranked 60th and 42nd in the world, respectively.
