The Eagles will face the Egyptians in a friendly encounter billed for the United Arab Emirates
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will have another chance to consolidate on their new found form when they face Egypt in an international friendly in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in January as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has struck an understanding with its Egyptian counterpart.
Head coach of the Eagles , Gernot Rohr told journalists during the post match press conference that the Nigeria’s senior national team will tackle the north Africans who denied them a place in 2017 AFCON.
“There won’t be lots games to come up next year before our next World Cup qualifier but I can assure you that we are going to play the Egyptian national team in January and it is going to take place in Dubai,” Rohr told the media shortly after the 2018 World Cup qualifier which Nigeria won 3-1 in Uyo,” said Rohr.
“The Egyptians are preparing for the AFCON but we may not be able to have our foreign based players available for the match so I will have time to look at the home based players.”
Rohr assured Nigerians that the Eagles won’t stay inactive for long with the 2019 AFCON qualifiers scheduled to begin in March next year and that he would continue to monitor the form of his players both home and abroad as he continues his rebuilding process.
