‘Thank you everyone,’ Jaguars quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, posts on social media after head injury

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was sidelined during the Week 13 clash against the Houston Texans after taking a brutal hit to the head.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport later reported that Lawrence was officially ruled out with a “head injury.”

After the game wrapped up on December 1, Lawrence addressed fans sharing an update on his condition.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out / been praying for me,” Lawrence posted. “I’m home and feeling better. Means a lot, thank you all 🙌🏼.” His wife, Marissa, also chimed in on Instagram, stating, “Thank you all for the texts and prayers 🤍. Just taking time to make sure he’s okay and get healthy but we appreciate all the support and love.”

Lawrence had just returned to action after sitting out three weeks due to a left shoulder AC joint injury. Despite speculation that Jacksonville might shut him down for the season given their record, the star quarterback refused to stay on the sidelines and suited up to compete.

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair delivered a late hit as Lawrence slid to avoid contact. The play triggered a heated scuffle between both teams, leading to Al-Shaair’s ejection. Before being forced out of the game, Lawrence struggled to find rhythm, completing 4-of-10 passes for 41 yards with one interception and a passer rating of 12.9. He also scrambled for 6 yards on the play where he got hurt.

At the time of Lawrence’s exit, the Texans were up 6-0. The hard-fought divisional matchup eventually ended with Houston edging Jacksonville 23-20 in a dramatic finish.

Tensions ran high throughout the contest, but Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud showed class in his postgame remarks. “I just wanted to say, man… prayers to Trevor,” Stroud said. “I pray he’s okay. Prayers to his family as well.”

Stroud backed his teammate, Al-Shaair, adding, “I don’t think that was [the linebacker’s] intent,” before reiterating his support for Lawrence. “I pray that he’s okay and that his family is right there with him,” Stroud concluded.

With their franchise signal-caller now in recovery, the Jaguars and their fanbase will anxiously await updates on Lawrence’s status as they look to regroup for the remainder of the season.
