Tottenham are believed to have agreed a deal for defender Juan Foyth.
Foyth is considered to be one of the most talented defenders in world football and has been a target for the Londoners all summer.
It was thought that Spurs had given up hope of doing a deal after being put off by what they considered to be an excessive valuation of the player by his current club Estudiantes, with Muaricio Pochettino unable to convince former international team-mate Juan Sebstian Veron (now a senior official at Estudiantes) to part with the player.
However, it appears that Spurs have re-entered talks for the ball-playing defender and have come to an agreement with the Argentinian side, beating off interest from French giants PSG in the process.
Foyth himself is believed to been keen on the move, reportedly telling Argentinian newspaper ‘El Dia’: “It’s a club that bets on the young and I think I’m going to have a chance to play.
“I also spoke with Mauricio Pochettino and I liked what he said. It was what helped me decide that Tottenham was the right place to continue my career.
“He told me to go, train and that I would be involved I would play. He also told me what the club was like, what job idea it had.”
